I am specifically looking for a mineral foundation that is hypoallergenic and will not irritate the skin. What types would you guys recommend? I was shopping for mineral foundation the other day and found some that were $16 and some that were $70! I would prefer something a little more affordable than $70 but I heard that the cheaper ones aren't always the greatest for sensitive skin. bare minerals or proactiv, both are very good , proactiv is 4 senstivie skin, and doesn't clog your pores ! Attention Ladies: What is the best type of mineral foundation to use on sensitive skin?

Have you used BARE ESCENTUALS AND JANE IRIDALE mineral foundation?
and if you have which did you prefer and why??? I currently use Bare Minerals in Light and this is a great color for me because of the yellow, so if you do prefer jane iridale what color is also closest to that.??Have you used BARE ESCENTUALS AND JANE IRIDALE mineral foundation?
I used to use bare escentuals and at first liked it but then I noticed it left me very greasy and wore off by the afternoon. I used it on several of my clientel and had to discontiue it due to irritation. I tried Jane and liked it but they use microparticles which are pretty dangerous to inhale. If you are looking for something new that is like Jane but more affordable (I consider Jane to be waaay more high class than bare)
You should really not use Bare Escentuals (this is why...)
1)They say pure minerals- not true. They use a cheap filler called Bismuth oxychloride which is not an actual mineral but a METAL that has been processed with tin and copper. It is a major skin irritant and can cause itching, rash and acne. (This is in almost all mainstream mineral makeup- AVON, loreal, maybelline, revlon, etc.....)
2)They say No preservatives- not true. They use parabean preservatives in their mineral veils and other skin care items
3) They use cheap fillers (besides bismuth they use cornstarch)
4)They get greasy and shiny by afternoon and start to slide off the face
5)They are overpriced and overhyped for what they are giving you
What I use on myself and clientele and why........
Faerie Organic Minerals is the best I have come across for many factors heres my list............
1)They are all natural, No preservatives at all, no parabeans,
2)No cheap fillers, No BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE, no cornstarch or talc
3)They do not coat their minerals (some companies do this and you should be aware, they are not good for your skin and could cause chemical rash or acne) some companies coat their minerals with dimethicone, silicone or other synthetic ingredients
4)They do not use nano particles or microparticles (some companies brag about these particles) (jane uses these) they are very dangerous to your health when inhaled, which is common since minerals are loose powder.
5)They use an expensive high end mineral like the high end companies (Jane Iredale) called Boron Nitride which is the main ingredient I look for as boron is amazing for the skin. It is known to be antibacterial (helps heal acne while you wear it), a skin perfector and soother.
6)Their minerals are LIGHT, AIRY, NATURAL LOOKING, DEWY and have AMAZING COVERAGE!
7)Their minerals last all day even in extreme heat
8) Their minerals are NOT chalky, powdery, orangey, dull, shiny or greasy. They look like your natural skin only better.
9)They are more affordable than most brands.
10)They offer a FREE sample kit so you can try before you buy (you just pay shipping, like $5.99)
This is what I have been using and my clientele loves it, I wouldn't change. I know you will too, just check it out. http://www.faerieorganic.com
Faerie organics ingredients are: Mica, Boron Nitride, Titanium dioxide and Zinc oxide, (iron oxides+ultramarines (what makes it colored) That is it! No crazy chemicals that have links to cancers! Have you used BARE ESCENTUALS AND JANE IRIDALE mineral foundation?

Which is the best mineral foundation?
I wannt try minerals foundation but dont know which brand to get. Which is the best for acne prone and oily skin and Why??Which is the best mineral foundation?
hmm, I've only tried one after doing much research on the net...and I have to say it's really good (I've got oily and acne-prone skin too arghh). The best part is that you can sample the colors first before buying the full-sized stuff--and you only haveta pay for postage! (and the samples last for agesss!) oops! forgot to tell ya the name! ;) it's Everyday Minerals..just go to www.everydayminerals.com and check it out! (plus they're pretty cheap) :) Oh! I've also heard from people that Joppa Minerals (www.joppaminerals.com) is also good...but I haven't tried it personally as yet...check them out! Good luck! :))
PS: just make sure you apply mineral makeup as you should (see the sites i mentioned) and you're good to go!
PS2: DON'T use Bare Ecentuals (or however you spell it)...many people I know with sensitive skin breakout with this! :( but I guess people have different skins...Which is the best mineral foundation?
I would use bare essencial, the best on the market.
Pricey but it lasts a long time and what i love u
can even sleep in it, good luck!!!!!
I think your best bet is to order various samples on Ebay. I've found that Jane Iredale Pressed Powder is best for oily skin. But Bare Essentials has a nice loose powder that looks beautiful, but it's totally messy to deal with. Sooo, before you spend big $$ on any one of them, get some little samples first. Try it out and have fun!
I tried Bare Minerals from QVC. Started to order their kit, but couldn't combine the two colors I thought I needed for foundation so I ordered from Everyday Minerals. I believe the Bismuth in BM probably works well for acne. EM offers 4 different types of foundation which may be worth exploring.
I used bare minerals and liked it. However, it is very expensive. Avon is coming out with their own brand and I'm sure it will work just as well. I've ordered some and it should be coming in this week. I will let you know how it works. It's very inexpensive. I believe it was $9.99 with the brush, but don't quote me on that. It will premier in an upcoming catalog. Oh I just checked. You can order it now, it is $9.99 with the brush and foundation!!!!
I wear Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals. I have oily skin, broken capillaries and dark circles under my eyes. For me, this foundation covers those issues and looks natural. It doesn't clog your pores, you control the coverage and it has a natural SPF15.
If you're near either a Bare Escentuals boutique or Sephora store, stop in and check it out. Both carry a starter kit which runs $60-$75, it has 2 foundation shades, warmth, mineral veil, 3 brushes and an instructional DVD.
Check it out if you don't like it you're not out anything.
I'll have to agree with someone else on this. Bare Minerals is the best I have tried. It's really easy to put on and it only takes about 15 seconds to put on. It covers like regular foundation but without the heavy feel. It doesn't transfer onto clothes, it's water resistant, and, like one of the previous answers, you can sleep in it! It makes your skin look like it's glowing. I paid about 39.99 for my kit, but it lasts forever. Good luckblack hair

What's a good mineral foundation to try?
I'm thinking about switching to mineral foundation but know nothing about it and why it's so popular. Can someone tell me a bit about it along with a good brand to try. Thanks. What's a good mineral foundation to try?
I use Everyday Minerals for my foundation now and I love it! It doesn't irritate my sensitive skin, it's affordable and it gives good coverage. It feels really light on my skin, like I'm not wearing much makeup at all. You can actually get a free sample kit if you want to try it out! The sample kit comes with 3 foundation colors, a blush and a concealer. Go here for instructions on how to get it: http://blog.musthavemakeup.com/?p=256
To use the foundation, first moisturize really well. Then tap a little of the mineral powder into a clean bowl and swirl it with your brush. Finally, using small circles, buff the makeup onto your skin. Keep doing this until you get the look and coverage that you want. That's it!What's a good mineral foundation to try?
L'Oreal's mineral make up is fabulous! I just bought it this weekend, and I've used it every day since! Your skin stays nice and clean feeling, and it doesn't wear off during the day. The coverage is amazing. I bought the concealer, foundation, blush, and bronzer. I also bought an eyeshadow just because it was pretty!
Good luck!
good mineral foundation....i honestly would say BareMinerals. I currently use it and it works great! I overheard on the radio that they are giving away a special offer and it includes a free give-away...the number is 1-800-900-2870...hope thats right! good luck! :)

Is facial primer used under liquid or mineral foundation?
Do you use primer under just liquid foundation? Or should it also be used under powders and minerals?
I don't really use liquid foundation too often, so I'm not sure.
Also... do primers break you out?Is facial primer used under liquid or mineral foundation?
Nope primers are used to keep the makeup on your face from running or falling off (mineral makeup). Depending on your skin type you should find a primer that suits you.Is facial primer used under liquid or mineral foundation?
primers do not break you out. but they should be used under all foundations liquid or powder.

If I use Loreal Paris Mineral foundation do I need primer?
will it look caked on and fake. Is Loreal Paris Mineral foundation any good. The mineral concealer? If I use Loreal Paris Mineral foundation do I need primer?
I do not use a primer before I apply my mineral makeup. It IS important to apply a moisturizer though. Let it sit a moment on your face before you brush on your makeup.
Yes. Have used Loreal Paris. If was fine. The
brush that came with it was stiff and my face didn't like it. So I used another brush.
Do not put much on your brush and tap the extra back into the container. Gently apply to your face in circles, don't forget your neck/jaw line. You can apply 2nd time if you want.
Visit this website signatureminerals.com and @home page look on left side, find the learning center. Click on mineral makeup tips. They have step by step ';how to apply'; mineral make up.
