What exactly is mineral foundation and why is it good for our skin?

There is a huge misconception about all mineral makeup being good for your skin. Almost all minerals on the market right now have fillers in them. Bismuth and talc can be found in most, including Bare Minerals. For some people this may mean nothing for their skin, as they won't react to it , but for others this can mean severe reactions.

Don't get me wrong, I use mineral makeup and like it. I just don't think you should be buying it believing that it's good for your skin. Bottom line: makeup is makeup and it's meant to be washed off before you sleep. What exactly is mineral foundation and why is it good for our skin?
it's a make up powder with good covering abilities.

the advantage is that is made without conserving or other chemical ingredients. that is why this powder can even be used by people who are allergic on most other make ups.

still, better take it off before you go to sleep. What exactly is mineral foundation and why is it good for our skin?
It's a powder made from pure, natural minerals and less or none of the artificial ingredients usually found in make-up.

Here's a link to a website which makes mineral make-up products - more than just foundation. It goes into a bit more detail to help answer your question.
Im wearing some now (SheerCover)

Its more natural, and its in a powder like form.

It lets your skin breath and dosnt cause spots.

Its really good.

And it also provides and even coverage and covers up imperfections really well.

x
It's an all natural foundation that uses naturally occuring minerals. If you think about it your skin is your largest organ and you slather lotions with chemicals on it every day. Certain chemicals are linked with cancer and other diseases. But some iron oxides (natural minerals) can be just as hazardous. That's why some aren't supposed to be used on lips because if you were to ingest them it would be a bad thing.
its made from minerals so even if you forget to wash it off at night it wont harm your skin.

im using bare minerals

I prefer BARE MINERALS. Available at SEPHORA for 36$.

What is a good mineral foundation for dry skin?

warmer months are coming up here in california and i don't want my makeup melting off during the day so i thought i'd start thinking about mineral foundation, which i've heard holds up the best during warm weather. What is a good mineral foundation for dry skin?
i use bare minerals and i love it..

using a good primer would also help it to stay on during the warm weather..What is a good mineral foundation for dry skin?
hands down BARE MINERALS! get their ';get started kit'; which has everything- brushes, primer, foundation, powder, and even a how-to dvd.

use the bare minerals moisturizer underneath it if you're into natural lotions too. they just came out with a mineral sunscreen which would probably be good for those summer months in Cali. OH and i havent gotten it yet but bare mienrals also makes a mist which sounds like it'd be perfect to use midday summer when you feel nasty
Look for a line that offers foundation for dry skin. I know for sure Almay has a whole line of make up for people with dry skin. It's what I use!

Here are some good books to help you out: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/cdohm84_W0鈥?/a>
I like maybelline mineral make up, I use the liquid foundation and pressed powder. I think using all powder products makes you look a bit flat, for lack of better terms but you know experiment around and see what works best with your skin.
I have really dry and sensitive skin, and I use Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation. It's really good, and I wore it all throughout summer last year without any problems.

What's the best mineral foundation sold at Walmart or Target?

I ONLY want to use mineral foundation. I don't want no cheap stuff like cover girl. That company's product doesn't work for me. Here's what i need:

-Best mineral foundation (liquid) that stays on for about 7hours

-Best mineral foundation (powder) that stays on for about 7hoursWhat's the best mineral foundation sold at Walmart or Target?
bare minerals which carries both. target is your best bet. What's the best mineral foundation sold at Walmart or Target?
physicians formula, the mineral wear loose powder is my favourite. it comes in kind of a dome shaped container, and can build up to any kind of coverage you want, from light to almost full. i use it everyday and i have combo skin, it keeps me shine free and oil free all day but also does not dry out my skin too badly either. if your skin is really dry use a good moisturizer beforehand, like nivea soft. thats what i use and it works great for sensitive skin. :)
I'm not sure about a powder foundation but the liquid mineral make-up I use really works for me. I purchased it at Target and it's called ';Mineral Power'; by Maybelline. I have really fair, dry skin though and it might not give the results your looking for if you have a different skin type. It blends beautifully and covers but does not look caked on. I've tried many different foundations but all end up looking blotchy at the end of the day. I LOVE this stuff. It's so new it's not yet been put on the official Maybelline website and only sold at Walgreens and Target I think.

  • What do you think of Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation?

I have it, and I absolutely love it. But it's not as popular on review sites like makeupalley.com as I thought it would be. What do you guys think of it? Anyone here as big a fan of it as I am?What do you think of Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation?
If it works for you then that's great! I hate makeupalley personally.

different things work for different people not only because of skin type but just preference of how we want our makeup to look and feel. I've seen a lot of good reviews for their colorstay mineral foundation and other products in that line. the stay matte though i think is the one that has gained the most popularity.

Is Bare Escentuals mineral foundation good for dry skin?

Because I have the mineral veil, and whenever I put it on, it usually flakes. And it makes me look really pale and sparkly, I hate using it.

    Is the foundation any better?

Thanks :)Is Bare Escentuals mineral foundation good for dry skin?
I use bare minerals and i have dry patches of skin also. I try to exfoliate really well and use a really good moisturizer. I love bare minerals. It is not drying or cakey which can make dry patches look worse. Just be sure to get a really good exfoliator no matter what kind of makeup you use and it will look better. Personally I could never put a liquid foundation on my skin again. All that nasty stuff clogging pores is just gross. Is Bare Escentuals mineral foundation good for dry skin?
No, in fact I used to use it.. its horrible unless you use blush and a really expensive moisturizer before applying the mineral foundation... mineral foundations were actually made for oily skin, I now use Sheer Cover, the best make up in the world, not too expensive and can order it online! It's amazing, they give you a bonus package for your first time buying, it comes with two different large cases of mineral foundation, a compoact foundation or blush carrier, it fits in your pocket! Lip gloss, eye highlighter, and eye liner, they give you all the brushes ( foundation brush, blush brush, eye make up brushes ) they even give you a dvd on how to apply the make up, before and after pics of women they put it on.

They show you step by step, it's fast and convienant. Hope this helps a lot, I am one of the new users to this make up, I absolutely love it, I'm sure you will too from the minute you buy it, be sure to watch the video!

If i buy bare minerals foundation do i need to buy mineral veil too?

or would it look ok with just the foundation. i can't afford to spend too much though. If i buy bare minerals foundation do i need to buy mineral veil too?
Mineral veil is a finishing powder, and it's not really necessary since it's a powder foundation. I like to use the colorless powder when my skin is oilier. I don't use bare minerals, I found it wasn't worth the price, instead I use Physician's Formula mineral foundation which you can buy at the drug store. If i buy bare minerals foundation do i need to buy mineral veil too?
the foundation works fine on its own.

mineral veil just makes your more like luminous maybe and its well worth the price. also it keeps the foundation on longer!
Make sure if you buy the foundation you use a lot of moisturizer under it or it wont stay on. You dont need the mineral veil but it sets the powder on. You would be fine with an oil of olay moisturizer and the foundation. I have been using bare minerals for two years. I havent had one break out. Dont listen to the guy who says it is bad for you. It is so light you can sleep in it. Good luck!! And, if you get extra money, buy the blush its great!!!
Please don't make this mistake bare minerals is so bad for your skin its packed with bismuth and talc, it will clog pores and make you itchy. Its not healthy for your skin.

try looking into bee luscious cosmetics its all natural minerals with NO BISMUTH or TALC and its hypo allergenic so much better for your skin and it will leave you so flawless
When I wear mineral veil, it seems to slightly diffuse the color (which is a good thing) and gives a ';matte'; look. It also tones down some of the small visible pores. It doesn't really help with controlling the oily shine, like a pressed powder does for me. The best thing about it is that a little goes a LONG way and it feels very soft. If you buy it, it's worth the money, but it's NOT a ';must have';.

Have you considered getting a starter kit that has it included? My sister in-law works at a hair salon and they sell kits there. She gets it for me for about $45 (instead of $60) with her employee discount. It's a good deal considering that one foundation usually costs about $25.

I have light freckles and it covers most of them. You would have to put it on pretty heavy to cover them completely though. I hate freckles on my face, but for some reason when I wear bare minerals, they don't bother me as much because the rest of my face looks so good! :)
you dont really need to, the foundation should be enough, they just advertise it so you can buy it

Is Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation worth buying? Has anyone used it?

i haven't heard much about it yet and thought about trying it because there's a variety of shades. tell me the good, the amazing, the bad, and the ugly

thank you!Is Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation worth buying? Has anyone used it?
I was an avid user of Bare Minerals for several years until recently when the drug store brands came out with their own versions. I tried them all and the one brand I found to be most like Bare Minerals was Maybelline Mineral Power. It is about half the price and almost just the same. It works very well and will last you awhile. I recommend the Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation and the Natural Perfecting Concealer (which compares to MAC's.) Good luck!

Do the mineral foundation from drug stores really work?

i've used bare minerals before but i had those acne scars so i had to use liquid foundation but now sometimes i dont have time to apply the foundation so i want to use the powder foundation like bare minerals but i've seen some products at drug stores like bare minerals but i dont know if they work or if i should just get bare minerals from a sephora store. Have you guys tried any GOOD mineral foundations from any drug stores that i can get? thanks =]Do the mineral foundation from drug stores really work?
honestly i just love bare minerals so much more than any other i've tried. it just applies so easy! however i realize it's not the cheapest and i'm happy to say loreal's bare naturale is actually pretty good! the ingredients are actually not bad like the other lines claiming to have mineral makeup (covergirl's has parabens! wth?!) and some of the other ';mineral'; lines even have TALC! that's major fail! bare naturale is on sale at most drugstores under a BOGO promotion very frequently (here it's on sale now!) and if you get it from rite aid or walgreens and dont like it you can bring it back. :)Do the mineral foundation from drug stores really work?
Well mineral foundations are awesome to start off with. I myself use some, the one I use is made by Neutrogena it has acne medication built in. It's not any of the harsh chemicals so even if you dont need it, its still okay to use. Its called Mineral Sheers Mineral Powder Foundation, I get it at Walgreens,Rite Aid,and Target,it works great.
remember sometimes when you switch foundations you may break out for a while
    l'oreal bare naturale is good

Whats the best mineral foundation i can buy at walmart?

that will cover freckles, and wont look cakey and fake?Whats the best mineral foundation i can buy at walmart?
Loreal has just come out with a new line of mineral makeup - its called Bare Naturale. I used it once and I thought it was pretty good! You get the brush which comes on the top of the container - pretty clever! =) If your just looking to cover freckles, I think that would be good. It had a veryyyy light coverage so no cakey fakeness to fear.

Good luck!Whats the best mineral foundation i can buy at walmart?
Physicians Formula has a wide range of cosmetics that are available %26amp; even better they are affordable.

A doctor invented Physicians Formula because he wife was allergic to so many allergens in cosmetics. And she was able to use this makeup.

I started trying minerals makeup with Bare Minerals %26amp; the Loreals brand. I didnt know that there is an ingredient in some mineral makep called bismuth oxychloride that can cause a bad reaction. My face would burn %26amp; itch %26amp; breakout in acne. I liked the way my face looked w/mineral makeup so I tried Loreal. When same itchy %26amp; burning started I read that bismuth can affect some people.

I found out about Physicians Formula because my younger sis was using it. I had no more problems w/itching %26amp; burning %26amp; my face cleared up.

Get a good soft poofy brush that you can apply the mineral makeup on in a circular motion around your face. Do NOT load too much powder on your brush, tap some off before applying to your face. You can add more if needed. Thats when you don't get to heavy %26amp; = cakey.

I use a concealer next, followed by blush. Final step is a finishing veil.

I have freckles %26amp; red hair. My freckles are concealed behind the makeup some, but my freckles are cute!

Try Physicians Formula %26amp; see if you like it.
I have freckles too and fair skin. for liquid concealer, I use 'Maybelline Pure Makeup - porcelain ivory light 1'. they have quite a few different skin shades to choose from. it works best on moisturized skin! it's also oil free. and for a powder I use NYC powder, and I apply it with a cosmetic pad. best thing you can apply the powder with though is one of the pads that have the loose material on it (I want to say fuzzy, but it's not haha. it's kind of fluffy, like a pampering puff). =]
try maybeline they work pretty good

  • Does physicians formula talc-free mineral foundation cover blemishes?

I occasionally get a zit but my skin tone is a little uneven. Does it give you good coverage?Does physicians formula talc-free mineral foundation cover blemishes?
I wear Physician's Formula Mineral Talc-Free Foundation, Powder and Blush or Bronzer, and I swear by this stuff!

It has excellent coverage, and will definately cover your blemishes. I have a very uneven skin tone, and get quite a few breakouts sometime (which leaves those annoying red marks), but this stuff covers it up well and doesn't worsen my breakouts. In fact, I get less pimples with this stuff than I ever did with other makeup. (I used to use Maybelline Shine-Free and then used Neutrogena Blemish Fighting foundations.)

Some say that PF Minerals is cakey, and chalky, but if you apply the foundation well- it really feels quite nicely on the skin. It just takes some getting used to. (I apply it with clean fingers- I don't use the sponge applicator, doesn't blend it well enough). And the compact powder can feel a -little- chalky, so I switched to the loose powder with the big fluffy brush (as a cap), and it works great! A little goes a long way, which is great for me b/c it saves me money! Beautiful!

I simply don't have the kind of cash for Bare Essentials, etc... I need to be able to run to Wal-Mart or CVS to pick up my makeup when I need it.

Besides, most [not all] pricey department store makeup costs so much simply b/c of the fancy designer, pretty packaging, or one extra added ';rare'; ingredient that supposedly does wonders for our faces. I have tried Sephora and for the most part, the drug store stuff is just as good.

Does mineral foundation look powdery when you put it on?

It looks just like tinted powder.

And that looks really, well powdery on my skin.

Also, does it actually provide any coverage?

ThanksDoes mineral foundation look powdery when you put it on?
no.. it depends on the color of ur skin and what color ur putting on.Does mineral foundation look powdery when you put it on?
I use mineral powder and it doesn't look powdery on me. I brush it on lightly and put several layers on. It should look natural especially if it matches your skin color well. I have mild rosacea and it covers the redness very well.

Also its possible that the brand isn't the right one for you. I had to try a 2 different brands before I was happy because the first one didn't look right no matter what I did. I hope this helps.
if you dont blend it properly then yes. make sure the you get the right shade suited for your skin tone.

a tip i use in my salon is after the mineral make up is applied LIGHTLY spray water on the face. this sets the make up giving a dewy look.

we use MD formulations and it feels lovely on the skin. make sure you use the right dome shaped brush when applying the make up and remember to tap off the access powder or it will appear cakey.
i use mary kay mineral powder and love it! it looks completley natural.

the key is you buff it on in circular motions. you can control how it looks. for a lighter look dont buff it in as deep. you can layer it to cover more or less.

its also better for your skin
It depends on the color and what kind you're using. If you use a cheap kind, you can tell. If you pay more for something like Bare Minerals, you'll get better coverage and results.
It doesn't look powdery at all. I get great coverage. I use BE and they have whats called bisque that I use to cover up my monthly monster zit. Otherwise, just using the foundation and warmth works great for me!
it doesnt give me any coverage

    i have neutragena mineral powder

    and it looks all sparkly

so i dont use it. i use their loose powder.
    Oh i love mineral makeup.

I suggest you put concealer on first, then top it off with the powder for more coverage. It doesn't look powdery at all.
I wouldnt even bother with it, i use this type of foundation by Maybelline New York called Dream Matte Mousse. You should try it its not like anything else and it is good cover up.
No, It shouldn't if it is well-blended on to your skin. It should supply good coverage if you have the right shade.
it does not look powdery, bare essentials is amazing.
It provides coverage, but sometimes you might get a powdery look... at least I have with the stuff I've tried.
    Complete opposite

    :]

    It makes it look natural.
it looks pretty people wont even know you have foundation on.
no it blends really good and works great =]

not usually . you have to have the right shade

I use bare essentials mineral makeup but am thinking of trying the new mary kay mineral foundation?

If i wear meduim in BE what would I wear in MK? the medium 1 or 2? any comments on the differences- pros or cons of each?I use bare essentials mineral makeup but am thinking of trying the new mary kay mineral foundation?
The best thing to do is contact a MK rep through www.marykay.com or whomever you may know. Ask her to give you a makeover and match your foundation. Once she matches your foundation (i.e. Ivory 200), you'll want to go one shade lighter in the Mineral Foundation. In this case, if you're Ivory 200, then you will want to use Mineral Foundation Ivory 1. If you were to use MF Ivory 2, chances are it would be way darker than you would like.I use bare essentials mineral makeup but am thinking of trying the new mary kay mineral foundation?
i have used both...im okay with bare minerals but i love mary kay...both feel natural and light to me....but i have ance scares and i want something that covers it without the cakey look and mary kays foundation does that for me
    i wear very little

Can I use a small kabuki frush for a liquid mineral foundation?

i just got Mac liquid mineral foundation, but the brush is way too expensive. Is a small kabuki brush ok to use instead? Or the soft focus face brush by bareminerals? Can I use a small kabuki frush for a liquid mineral foundation?
I use my soft focus face brush with my spray foundation so I don't see why you can't use that. Try it out once, if it works then great, if it doesn't then just wash the brush with a gentle cleanser. You could also try a foundation brush, you can get an inexpensive one at Target, Macy's or Sephora. Can I use a small kabuki frush for a liquid mineral foundation?
no, you use a foundation brush for foundation - duh. they are rounded at the bottom so you can spread it out properly, a kabuki brush is for blusher or powder foundation you know cuz its not rounded

    xxx
I find that putting liquid foundation on with your fingers looks much more natural than with a brush, saves you money also :)
No try a Stipiling brush the Kabuki is not made for that
no that will ruin the brush!

What is the best brush for mineral foundation?

Hello, i recently purchased Bare escentuals without buying their brush in hopes of finding a better price on the market. Would anyone know a good brand i can buy at the drug store (shoppers drug mart-Canada).. i have some minor hyperpigmentation so i guess i would need a concealer brush as well as a foundation brush (the kabuki any good?).. any tips on this would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks againWhat is the best brush for mineral foundation?
The Kabuki Brush is for the most coverage. That is what I use so my foundation/concealer/mineral veil. (I actually bought 2 starter kits .. I couldnt resits 2 of each brush :])

    http://www.everydayminerals.com/images/2鈥?/a>

You can also purchase a brush that looks like the first one in this picture:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/7pc-Bare-Escentuals-鈥?/a>

    Its for light-medium coverage.

Same picture, 4th brush is the concealer brush which is used to foundation/mineral veil (and if you bought the seperate concealer)

If you have a target near you just go to their makeup section. Alot of people I recommended Bare Minerals to wanted to try it out so bought their brushes at Walgreens/Target and then just bought individual jars on ebay. They say the brushes from target work just as well. Just make sure you get the right brushes. Here is how I use my brushes:

Kabuki Brush - maximum coverage = foundation, concealer, mineral veil

Flawless Applicator Brush - light-medium coverage = Warmth

Maximum Concealer Brush = concealer/mineral veil (for my t-zone)

Those are the only brushes you really need :]

Physicians formula is the most pure of the drug store brands. Most others are full of chemicals.. Read the labels!

    Typical minerals are:

    Zinc Oxide

    Titanium Dioxide

    Mica

    Magnesium Stearate

    Kaolin Clay

    Iron Oxides
I love True Match minerals from L'Oreal. It's perfect and really works well.

Which Color Bare Mineral Foundation Is Best For Me?

I wanted to try Bare Minerals and cant decide which shade to get. I dont like an overly made up look but am getting older and have some discoloration and pink undertones to my face. I have fair/med skin, green eyes and I color my hair blonde. I burn first on my face but do tan nicely. I cant decide If I should get the light or med shade?Which Color Bare Mineral Foundation Is Best For Me?
from your description, i would suggest the light shade. even better, get the starter kit in light.. comes in two shades you can mix together (one is slightly more yellow than the other, which is good for counteracting too much rosy-ness), plus a slew of other good products, brushes included.

if you're still doubtful, go to a bare escentuals counter or a sephora and get someone to colormatch you on your jawline. if it looks too light at first, give it a few minutes because the oils on your face will cause the color to oxidize slightly which may darken the color. take into account if you get noticeably darker or lighter in the winter and summer months.

most mineral foundations are VERY forgiving when it comes to finding the right shade, so don't worry too much. remember to use very little at a time and buff buff buff!Which Color Bare Mineral Foundation Is Best For Me?
according to my book thing from bare minerals

    ur a medium

but i think its best if u go to a store and have them try it on u cuz it says that hispanics (girls of color) should use medium but i turned out to be fairly light...so it all depends...but if u burn like me then ur a fairly light...also my face gets super red when its hot or cold..

go to the sight and on the bottom right below where it says 29.99 for the starter kit it says find your shade and click on it so u can read for urself what it says and what shade u r

    good luck

In Prescriptives I am definitely a (very pale) yellow/orange, but I am not sure what this translates as: neutral, warm, cool or yellow (I am ordering foundation samples from LilyLolo). It is not necessarily yellow toned (as yellow/red also exists in prescriptives). If you are a prescriptives yellow/orange does this mean we are a warm tone? Look at your veins on your wrist if they appear blue then you are cool, if they appear green then you are warm.

What is the best drugstore mineral foundation?

I want to try out a mineral foundation from the drugstore first any suggestions?

Thanks :)What is the best drugstore mineral foundation?
L'Oreal Bare Naturale, they've changed up the formula, and its better now, because when it first came out the formula sucked.

It can give you medium to full coverage, just make sure you get a new brush to apply with, because the brush it came with, sucks and isn't soft.

I suggest Essense of beauty brushes, there kabuki brush is really soft and afforable, and you can get them at CVS (:What is the best drugstore mineral foundation?
    sally hansen spray foundation
    i like the loreal one.
    I suggest LoReal or Covergirl

What is your favorite mineral foundation and why?

I've been using Bare Minerals for about two years, and I find that it looks a bit cakey and unnatural.

I have also tried KMS Minerals, which I do like better than Bare, (it looks very sheer and natural,) but I'm not sure that it provides enough coverage or lasts through the day.

Have you tried any other brands that worked well for you?

Any opinions would be appreciated. What is your favorite mineral foundation and why?
At the moment Im using Maybelline Pure-Foundation Mineral loose powder, its really light so its not cakey and it covers wellWhat is your favorite mineral foundation and why?
I use Bareminerals, and it works great for my friends and I. If it looks too cakey, and unnatural, you used too much. You could be far from the truth on this bareminerals statement. We have NO problems with it.
I am using kms mineral essentials and I love it. I find that I get better coverage when using an application or flat brush. I found that I dont get good coverage with any makeup by using the kabuki type brush.

    Mineral foundation?

is it a good idea to use mineral foundations like bare minerals on dry skin?Mineral foundation?
u have to make sure u moisturize.

    try getting some samples:

    www.everydayminerals.com

    www.joppaminerals.com

    www.alimacosmetics.com

i've tried the 1st two. i like everyday cuz they have free samples..but i like joppa minerals cuz i have oily skin and they have finishing dust including in their samples ($2.75).

    good luckMineral foundation?
Use a light moisturizer before hand, it doesnt take alto, less than a dime size, let it soak into your skin for about 5 minutes.

Bare minerals is wonderful, buff it on and you have an airbrushed look. I use it and love it. Just be warned if you have very sensitive skin you may be allergic to the bismuth oxychloride it contains. I havent had many problems but some people have.
I love the mineral powder foundation by Arbonne. I second that reply!!!

I got it per a suggestion from a friend as my free gift when I ordered a bunch of products - and it's been the best -

I love the way it makes my skin look and feel. I also love that it's got an spf too - and made from pure and natural ingredients. :O)

I have combination skin and it has never made it flaky!

I have not used another brand. But to answer your question I think they are great - for all skin types
I have very dry skin and use Arbonne's Mineral powder foundation every day. It goes on very naturally and flawlessly. I like the light reflecting properties. It never cracks or looks powdery.

Use a well formulate moisturizer - look for a good water retaining ingredient like glycerin, hylauronic acid..etc , alpha hydroxy acids for exfoliating...Arbonne's Intelligence Daily moisturizer is fantastic
probably not. it will look like you have millions of cracks on your face after putting a lose powder foundation on dry skin.
I have dry skin and I love bare minerals. Make sure you use moisturizer first.
for dry skin, i don't recommend using powders. powders will just make the skin look drier. you should use liquids instead. try smashbox cosmetics. smashbox is a cruelty-free company

  • MINERAL FOUNdATION?

what is so great about it, im wondering weather to use it, does it cover spots?MINERAL FOUNdATION?
It's a very natural look, the mineral powder doesn't settle into lines or pores and is better for your skin than liquids (the natural kind, anyways - bare escentuals is what I use - I have no idea of the ingredients in other brands). My skin's gotten better using it, it doesn't cause breakouts.

And yes, used the right way, you can use a little more with their concealer brush to cover blemishes!

It's really a wonderful invention. It started with Bare Escentuals and their infomercials and now it seems every cosmetic company is making mineral powder foundation. That should tell you something.MINERAL FOUNdATION?
yeah i love my j.a.n.e mineral makeup fondation its so easy plus it blends in wiht my skin tone.
I love Avons personal match smooth mineral make up . I buy it online at www.youravon.com/jmahan
its great. I use it and love it. It covers everything.
It is brilliant for your skin and gives you less spots there is a website on my computer but im on some one elses so why dont you google it!!
Girl........... i love bare mineral ever since i went bare I'm never going back to that stupid foundations that all they do is make your skin feel heavy, and sticky and not mentioning the damage it does to your skin. Ive been using bare minerals for a year now and i love them you feel the changes. your skin feels healthy and it looks natural, you don't look like you have a mask on and its super fast........
It is the best!! But I recommend Arbonne!!
I LOVE mineral makeup. It doesn't clog your skin. You get great coverage and it doesn't settle into the lines you may have. Also, it's essentially mistake proof when you apply it in that there are no clear ';lines'; that you may get with other liquid foundations Yes, everyone has their own version of it now. II use Arbonne's. It comes with a free brush too, which is nice =)
Mineral foundations is the best. I've been using bare-minerals for 5 years now and i love it. Since I've been using it i get so many compliments on my skin you can't tell that I'm even wearing makeup. Since I've been wearing it i have not had any breakouts and if i have it has not been that many, my skin is softer, more radiant. I can even sleep in it, it's that pure
OMG!!! I went 2 get a facial on friday and i asked exactly the same question 2 them, they sed it wud b better 4 ur skin than normal make-up and I have loads ov spots on my forehead and i 1drd if it would b ny gud 4 them.I f you want a concealer I would reccomend witch (its a medicated concealer) all my mates say its good too. After u posted this question now i know mineral make-up is good then im gunna get it. THANKYOU!!
It's great. It covers everything....like dark circles, pimples...you name it. It makes you look air brushed. It's very light, you don't even feel like you have make-up on. i recommend Bare Minerals.
Absolutley wonderful makeup! I use Bare Minerals and this stuff is so smooth, and it goes on flawlessly. The only thing I don't like about Bare Minerals is their brushes. They tend to shed.

    Mineral foundation?????

hey what shops can i get this mineral foundation from in the uk? what is the best brand to get? what are the benefits of it?Mineral foundation?????
Mary Kay just released their Mineral Powder Foundation a month or so ago, and I've been using it ever since. I LOVE it. Sheer, flawless, buildable coverage ... feels so light yet covers minor imperfections beautifully.

It's available online ... just go to www.marykay.com and you should be able to find someon in your area who sells it. If not, you could always find a consultant in the US to mail it to you (like me!), or get it on eBay.Mineral foundation?????
I use Bare Minerals, and it's done wonders for my skin. You can get it Sephora or at the bare minerals website.

L'oreal also makes their own mineral makeup, which is sold at most stores. I'm not keen on that brand, but it might be more readily available.

Either would be half the price of beeluscious.
Sheer Cover is the best brand to get. Mineral foundation allows your skin to breathe ans sweat during the day so your pores arnt clogged! This reduces blemishes dramatically. It also gives a flawless silky finish with a heap of coverage. I have also tried the L'oreal one two, both are fantastic! You can get them from sepoha! Give them a go!
Bee-Luscious is the best! Just contact their distributer in the UK. I can't give the info on here because I don't want a violation. I live in the US but travel quite often.

I like Bee-Luscious because they do not use bismuth, talc or oil in their foundation. So it won't clog your pores or make you itch. It stays on at least 15 hours.

    Mineral Foundation?

I wanted to know people's opinion on what mineral foundation they found to be the best. So far from the info-mercials I like bare essencials but I'm not too sure b/c I have never used foundation.

Also, what is an appropriate age to start wearing foundation in the first place? I'm only 18 %26amp; I don't really have too many major break-outs or issues w/ my skin so should I still wear any??Mineral Foundation?
Bare Minerals is the bestMineral Foundation?
I got the Bare Minerals about a month ago and I love it! Its nice because you can build your coverage. It is kinda like a powder but goes on very smooth. I like it because for everyday you can just put a little on and to go out you can build the coverage to look more ';made up';.

If you arent worried about your skin, dont worry about it. I was wearing the clinique double pressed matte powder when I was 18 and it looked just fine.

You should wear make up to enhance your natural features, not to look like a barbie doll!

    Let your natural beauty shine!
bare minerals by bare escentuals is the best one i've found in many years. it is even better, than the infomercial implies. i love it, because it evens out my skin tone, it is 100 pure minerals %26amp; good for my skin, it has a natural spf 15, and it looks %26amp; feels completely natural. my teenage daughter uses it as well, and loves it. try it out for yourself at any ulta, sephora, macy's, or nordstrom store, to see, how you like it, before making a decision. if you don't feel like wearing make-up, then don't.
yeah bare issentuals is awesome i wear it and its light and it doesn't run. you can try it on at sephora it a make-up store search if theres one where u live also other stores sale but I only know sephora. and whats grate about it is that you can apply it as thick or thin as you want it. so you cant even tell ur wearing it
Bare Minerals made me itch. It's the bismuth oxychloride in it. It's in ARbonnes, Avons, and sheer cover too. Stay away from ones with talc in it, like covergirls.

BE is really expensive too. I never found the right shade either, just not enuff choices.

Mineral foundation is absolutely the best for your skin though, and the best feeling and most natural looking.

I use LAminerals now and I'm very happy with it. They have 2 formulas of foundation: HOllywood, (med/heavy coverage and self adjusting), and NoHoGlo (lil more sheer coverage, and gives that dewy/glowy/airbrushed look).

Both stay on really well. I even swam in the Hollywood one over the summer and it didn't come off. This ones best if you have oily skin too.

The samples are only like $1 and they ship em free:)

Whatever you decide on...I'd try some first before buyin the kit thingy or whatever.
I use the Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation from the Bee-Luscious Cosmetics. It does NOT have any bismuth or talc. BM has both and LA Minerals has talc! These clog pores and can cause an itchy rash. It usually takes about two weeks for the reaction to start!
Thank you for asking this question b/c I would definitely lik 2 know the answer....Hope you get a good 1 b/c I really do want to know as well...GOOD LUCK!

    Mineral foundation?

what is a mineral foundation, is it the powder type foundation ?Mineral foundation?
yes it's a powder foundation that is better for you that cream foundation. It lets your skin breath a little better.Mineral foundation?
You really have to know how to put it on. You need one of those big, poofy brushes and apply it in this swirly-swirly motion. Then, you brush off the excess.
Yes it is a powder foundation made of all natural ingredients.
yes, but it lasts longer than the usual powders do %26amp; covers a little better.
Bare minerals it's said to be good im going to try it out

    Mineral Foundation?

hey guys. Im looking for a new foundation and ive heard mineral ones are great, just a few questions though. My face is acne prone and i have large pores and i hate liquid foundations, they clog my pores and make my face look cakey. Does it make your skin look flawless? how much is it usually? im not looking for bronzers or anything just something to hide my imperfections. how does it work with oily skin? thanks!!!%26lt;3Mineral Foundation?
Mary G is correct in that you'll want to use something underneath the mineral foundation. I recommend a primer. Mineral makeup, while light and blendable, has a tendency to sink into your pores. A primer will fix that.Mineral Foundation?
Sounds like mineral make up is perfect for you....

Use a base first... like something called perfection powder or something... then the tinted stuff... you'll love it!
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!

    Mineral foundation?

Hi, do they do mineral makeup in UK. Is it good for pale and sensitive skin? Please suggest brands. By the way i have pale skin and a couple of milk spots.Mineral foundation?
I use a great product line. They have mineral and liquid foundation. I can't leave the information here (it's against the community rules), but if you send me a note I will get you the information.Mineral foundation?
    Loreal bare minerals powder
Yeh I just bought some of the collection 2000 stuff and they do it in a pale shade for only a fiver! (Superdrug)

Loreal has also got one which I've not tried it's a tenner so I just got the collection 2000 stuff to try and I love it!
I use LA Minerals and they ship there. It's good stuff.

They have samples for $1 each and will ship them free to you.
My neice lives in London. I got her to try KmS Mineral Essentials and she loves it! I am not sure what other brands ship internationally
Idk, but u can always order online. I use bare minerals, it might seem a little exspensive ($60) for a starter kit, but it lasts forever and comes w/ all the brushes. After that the makeup is like 20 dollars for a little bit bigger container. It is definetly good for anytype of skin, alot of my acne has disappeared sinse i started using it!

  • Mineral Foundation ?

I am a use of a mineral foundation. Do you use shake the case before open it? It is really bothering for me...

Is there any more efficient way to use it? I wanna save time to shake the case.Mineral Foundation ?
No, I don't think you're supposed to shake the case (not that it will do any harm).

For mineral powders I know they have a system called ';tap, swirl, buff';. Basically you tip the container upside down, then using the palm of your hand just tap it. Turn it over ,take the lid off, brush the brush in, and brush it on your face.

I have a translucent powder that works in the same manner and a lot of powder comes off with just a few taps.

If you're skeptical, you can search Bare Mineral Foundation and I've seen videos of people do it.Mineral Foundation ?
Nope, I don't... I just turn it upside down %26amp; tap it a bit to get it to come out the top... Been doing that for 2 years %26amp; never had a problem.
i dont think it will hurt but i dont think it necessary.
Try puritycosmetics.co.uk. It is really good!

I have been using loreal true match super blendable powder , but I want to change mineral foundation?

I love the loreal true match powder but I want a makeup that is healthy of harsh ingredients. I'm not into liquid foundation nor loose powder. I want a mineral foundation that is close to the quality of loreal truematch. ThanksI have been using loreal true match super blendable powder , but I want to change mineral foundation?
faerie organic. http://www.faerieorganic.com I am a crusader against harsh and unhealthy ingredients in our skin care products. I have done much research and tried many brands and I find the best is faerie organic. They do not use ANY harmful chemicals in there formulas and no cheap fillers like TALC, BISMUTH OXYCHLORIDE, CORNSTARCH etc...There products leave a gorgeous healthy glow and you can sleep soundly knowing your ingredients do not have any parabeans or preservatives in them unlike bare escentuals. They have a sample starter kit for like $5.99 and they usually give freebies with orders which I luv!I have been using loreal true match super blendable powder , but I want to change mineral foundation?
I really recommend you to shift to Nu Skin make-up products. they are tremendously the best!! especially the eyeshadow and foundation. I guarantee they are the best i've ever used in my entire life :)

Theres no such things as MINERAL FOUNDATION every mineral foundation has some kind of chemicals in it. Even Pur Minerals / Bare Minerals. '; Mineral Foundation '; is just anthor way to market Powder Foundation.
I agree with lovely. There's no such thing as actual mineral foundation, it has to have at least some chemicals in it.
I suggest getting introduced to Bare Minerals.

Is Bare Escentuals Mineral foundation really any better than Loreal or Revlon's mineral makeup?

If so, why? I would like to know the difference. Is Bare Escentuals Mineral foundation really any better than Loreal or Revlon's mineral makeup?
i read all kinds of mixed reviews on all types of mineral makeup. I use Dinair Airbrush Makeup and its amazing!! If u go go to google and type in Dinair you'll find their site. it makes my skin look flawless and lasts all day. Ive used ti for 2 years now and i've never been happier with makeup! Is Bare Escentuals Mineral foundation really any better than Loreal or Revlon's mineral makeup?
You really need to check the ingredients before buying ANY mineral makeup to make sure it's truly 100% pure and natural. You should really check out Bellissima. http://www.bellissimamineralmakeup.com/ They also have Allantoin in their foundation which is harder to find in a mineral makeup. Go to their About Us page that tells about all their ingredients.

I've only tried Bare Essentials. I'm not too pleased. And I think all these are a hype. Powder is powder. If you want really ';Sheer'; coverage, you're not going to hide imperfections. Use more %26amp; you get that fake look with too much make-up. I wanted the matte effect for my T-zone oily skin. All powders/minerals are the same. They look oily once your oil glands begin their daily activity. I've also found it actually accentuates the large pores on my face. I can not get near my eyes b/c it eventually makes my wrinkles there more noticeable. I went back to a cheap translucent face powder %26amp; got better results. But that's b/c I like the ';no make-up, healthy skin'; look.
I doubt it, but try it for yourself. Order a small one on ebay or something. I can't wear it cuz of the bismuth oxychloride in it, makes me itch. I use LA Minerals and it's great.
Not really, they basically have the same ingredients. both are light and easily applied.

I bought the minerla loose powder and it was awful. I have used it twice and havent touched it since, its impossible to get anywhere near an even coverage and the colour is not very natural. Cakey too.

    However

This is the first avon product i have been disappointed in, I love their other products like avon magix primer is amazing and thier clear skin rnage is quite good too. As is thier loose pearls bronzer and a few eyeshadows. All of my customers who have bought this foundation have come back for more!

Online it shows as currently discontinued but it will be back in September =)
you cant buy avon from a shop it is well known as a brand that was used by women to make money in the early 60's it was sold door to door and women had parties to do the selling - the price is cheaper as there is no retail mark up not that it is not good - i dont know if the foundation is good but have a look at review on avon
no i disagree with that 1, ive bought expensive **** b4 and its been awful :( price doesnt matter in my eyes it whatever works with ya skin everyone is diffrent, I by cheap mineral foundation its like 拢3 and its cool as fudge :D so best way 2 tell is ask 4 a sample or just buy it n c :) good luck sweetie xxx
Most avon makeup is very good, and has svery reasonable prices!! However, I don't think their mascaras are very good :/

I had their mineral foundation! I loved it! Great, non cakey coverage that lasted all day. I highly reccomend it. :D

i never really use brands like avon, etc but i tried avons loose powder the other day and it was really good......it is mineral and has good and natural coverage! i hope thats what you wanted to know

There are worse brands than Avon, but you get what you pay for: If its cheap then generally its poorer quality than the more expensive brands.

Which makeup brush is better for applying loose mineral foundation?

I'm using Maybelline Mineral Power powder foundation but I don't like the brush included with it. Which kabuki brush do you like better for applying powder?

    Too Faced Flatbuki brush

    or Eco Tools kabuki brush?

thanks!Which makeup brush is better for applying loose mineral foundation?
Eco TOOLS kABUKI bRUSHWhich makeup brush is better for applying loose mineral foundation?
It's never really a good idea to use the brushes that come with eyeshadow, blush, or foundation. Those brushes tend to apply make-up in one small area, as oppose to applying makeup evenly and beautifully to your face. I use a large Studio Basics blush brush, but you can use it for foundation, too. They come in several different sizes, also, which you probably know can be very helpful. I bought my Studio Basics brush for only a buck at Big-lots! I'm sure you can buy them at a vast amount of stores, but, hey, I chose Big-lots. (:

So, everyone can use a few skin care/pimple tips, right? Why is this? If you choose the wrong type of makeup, irritation occurs. For sure. Well, here's some info- I love helping people. (:

For tough zits, I use 'Equate Medicated Acne Gel, Maximum Strength'. You can buy it at Wal-Mart for a couple of bucks. If you have a zit, wash your face with a mild cleanser, then put this cream on before you go to bed. If you don't want to buy anything, try holding a very hot, wet rag on your pimples. The hot rag will bring the puss to the surface of your skin, making the pimples way easier to pop. Zits are caused by oil, dirt, or greasy makeup clogging your pores and irritating your skin. So, the irritation builds up and forms a pimple, or a more serious and harder to treat form of zits, called acne. Equate is a store brand, and I know you would probably rather put your trust in a more expensive brand, but, let me tell you something. The pricier brands have many of the same ingredients as the cheaper, or store brands. They charge you more for the label. The 'Equate Medicated Acne Gel, Maximum Strength' will dry up your zits, and take the irritation down a notch. That way, you can have the opportunity to pop them, or you can just be patient and wait until nature saves you from these horrible little bumps. With all that said, now I will tell you one more thing: When popping your zit/zits, use your ring fingers. They are the weakest fingers, and they won't lead to further irritation. Then, gently, place them on both sides of your zit. Now, gently push on each side, and the puss will start to leak out of the pimple. To prevent future pimples, wash your face twice a day with a mild cleanser. Harsh cleansers can be as bad as oil and dirt for your pores, if you have sensitive skin like me, that is. But I think everyone has sensitive skin somewhere on their face. Now, to cover up your zits while you still have them on your face, use a gentle, non-greasy concealer or foundation. A good, well trusted brand such as 'Almay' should do the trick. I use it, and my skin is pretty much always perfectly clear. Not to brag. LOL. Anyway, don't freak out if you get a zit, everyone gets those little suckers every once and a while. (:

Well, now that I gave you some information about skin care, makeup, brushes, and pimple popping products-Good luck!
Kabuki brushes are the best. I dont like the ones that come with the other mineral foundations. Also Bare Minerals has a great brush.

  • What is the difference between a fat blush brush and a mineral foundation brush-can I use a blush brush for?

applying mineral foundation? What is the difference between a fat blush brush and a mineral foundation brush-can I use a blush brush for?
a mineral foundation brush? if they're like kabuki, like this one:

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

it gives you a lot more coverage. but you can use a large powder/blush brush as well if you don't want a lot of coverage from your foundation (probably barley any).

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

but i find the kabuki to be the best for mineral foundations, it buffs on and looks smoother and less flakey. What is the difference between a fat blush brush and a mineral foundation brush-can I use a blush brush for?
The mineral brushes that I've seen are dense and cover a large area when applying. I like to use blush brushes that are smaller and angled. They give better control so there isn't one big deposit of colour on the cheek.

You can use a blush brush for mineral foundation but I wouldn't use a mineral foundation brush for applying blush.

I would get a mineral brush if that's the product you're using as it holds the mineral makeup much better.
A flat brush will give you the best coverage while applying mineral foundation. An application brush gives you more of a medium coverage. I guess you could use a blush brush to apply the foundation, I am not sure what type of coverage you would get with it though, and you probably would want to use another brush for your blush. :)
The bristles in the foundation brush just pick up more because they're slicker and closer together so yea you can use a blush brush. It might get ruined but you can use it.

Has anyone tried the new Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation?

You know what, a really great place to go for reviews/recommendations is ';makeupalley.com';. And people write really detailed information, so you should check it out. I've made decisions on buying stuff just from that site! Good luck!Has anyone tried the new Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation?
Yes it does exactly what it says on the tin - so to speak. It covers very well and fills in all those little lines. It doesen't look too heavy on either considering what a good job it does.

Try and ask for a sample off the Revlon counter first. You never know they may give you a free make-over.

Hope this helps and have a good evening.;-)

What is the best and most affordable ';Mineral Foundation';?

    ladies:

In your opinion, which mineral foundation out there is the best in overall coverage and price.

I have tried Bare Minerals and Sheer Coverage. I like both but found Bare Minerals to give a more glowy look and its been a while since using it.

My question: Bare Minerals the best? Or is there another line better?

Let me know? What is the best and most affordable ';Mineral Foundation';?
i've used bare minerals and wasn't impressed at all, and it does get really pricey.

i've started using neutrogena's mineral line, i LOVE it! it's so much more affordable and it's actually made a difference in my skin, unlike anything that i ever saw with bare minerals!

definately check it out, it's not all that expensive, around $11 per product.

hope all works out! What is the best and most affordable ';Mineral Foundation';?
    Bare Minerals is very good for natural coverage I think. My favorite is M.A.C. though. Studio Fix and Studio Tech by M.A.C. covers very well and doesn't look ';caked on.';
I am 42 years old and having been searching for the ';perfect'; foundation until last year. Bare Minerals is the reason I stopped looking! Not only does it look natural, is easy to apply, but actually improves the appearance of my skin. No more pimples to due clogged pores. I even go w/out washing my face some nights with no bad results. It may seem expensive, but it lasts forever!!! I will continue to use this for years to come. I have never tried Sheer Cover or the Neutrogena mineral based line. I hope this has helped you. Good luck!!

How do you put on powder mineral foundation and make it look really natural any tricks?

Remember that less is more. You can always keep re-applying if you are not getting the coverage you desire. make sure to use a moisturizer before hand as well so that you do not over-dry your skin. If you are using an all natural mineral product, it should look natural. How do you put on powder mineral foundation and make it look really natural any tricks?
Use the correct tools. There's a brush for regular application and the kabuki brush for fuller coverage. Don't pile on the loose powder either. Apply it very lightly or you'll end up looking like powder face. How do you put on powder mineral foundation and make it look really natural any tricks?

What kind of mineral foundation gives you full coverage?

like to cover blemishes and suchWhat kind of mineral foundation gives you full coverage?
Ohhh Please whatever you do STAY AWAY FROM BARE ESENTUALS .... I have had so many clients come in with irritated and clogged pores that have caused such damage because of the talc and bismuth content in these powdered minerals. Now as a professional makeup artist for 20 years and own a successful Spa/Salon in L.A. I will give you the magic secret.

Bee Luscious Cosmetics, get their BLEMISH TREATMENT CONCEALER this will hide and conceal the blemishes while acne fighting agents help to make those blemishes disappear, then follow with their liquid powder mineral foundation this mineral foundation gives great full coverage yet dry's powdery light on your skin and IT WILL NOT CLOG YOUR PORES EVER, its make up that is formulated to create and maintain healthy pores.

Now if you have problems also try their papaya enzyme cleanser and the skin vitality mineral mist these products will help balance your skin's chemistry for beautiful skin all the time. I hope I have helped. What kind of mineral foundation gives you full coverage?
You should try PowderFX from the cover FX line (available in shoppers drug mart for $35 and worth every penny). This stuff is amazing. I tried it over a year ago and refuse to use anything else.
    bare essentials is great!!!

Gives you just the right amount of coverage that you need
Try bare essentials. I use it and love it. Go to Sephora.com or go to the stores.
It's funny you should ask that question...For the first time just over this past weekend, I saw an infomercial for Sheer Cover and it looked like it gave full coverage to the women who were using it...I don't wear makeup at all but have to honestly say, after watching how beautiful and natural looking it was on the women, I would love to now try using some makeup!

    http://www.sheercover.com/benefitsofmine鈥?/a>

They advertise that the Sheer Cover provides complete coverage in just one step by incorporating both Foundation and Finishing Powder in one.

Just go through the site, read the information and view the little commercials they have on the website and determine for yourself if this is a product that you'd like to try out...

    http://www.sheercover.com/

Has anyone ever used Sheer Cover that could give more insight on this product?

Best wishes! I hope you find what you're looking for!
Bare escentuals' bare minerals foundation. Use the Kabuki brush and maximum concealer brush to achieve full coverage. I use it and I love it!
I use L'Oreal Bare Naturale Foundation. I think it works pretty well :) However, keep in mind the purpose of foundation isn't to cover blemishes, but to even out skin tone.

Why does it say that after you put on your Bare Minerals foundation, you have to set it with Mineral Veil?

Veil doesn't so much ';set'; the mineral makeup as add an extra layer of ligh diffusing minerals on top. Veil is normally quite sheer, whereas the foundation is more opaque to provide coverage.

Veil just makes it look more polished and finished. Why does it say that after you put on your Bare Minerals foundation, you have to set it with Mineral Veil?
bareminerals sucks. it does not blend or set well. sheer cover is so much better! Why does it say that after you put on your Bare Minerals foundation, you have to set it with Mineral Veil?
theyre trying to get u to buy the product
the veil makes it look more natural, not like you have layer after layer of make up on your face. it doesnt set the proudct, it is like a sheer layer that is lighter and like finishes off the make up basically
because they're trying to sell their products.

  • Which one shall I go for, Maybelline mineral power or Everyday minerals foundation ?

I've been using Bare minerals for a year and its great I'm looking for an alternative to it because Bare minerals is quite expensive and I'm a student! I want a mineral foundation that had great coverage and isn't too harsh on my wallet :) I've done some research and EDM and Maybelline had good reviews and are both quite cheap but which one shall I go for ?Which one shall I go for, Maybelline mineral power or Everyday minerals foundation ?
I been using the Maybelline Mineral power line .. and all their products are great the powder foundation comes with a kabuki brush and it ranges to about $10 .. depends on your area where u live. It gives a good amount of coverage, looks natural never cakey. and the colors are very matchable to your skin tone.

well good luck...:)Which one shall I go for, Maybelline mineral power or Everyday minerals foundation ?
Go for the Maybelline Mineral Powder

Is it true that mineral foundation is good for your skin?

Does the Maybelline Mineral Power natural perfecting powder foundation really make your skin better for the long run? My skin is not that bad so I do not need to use foundation but it does look better with the foundation on. I wanted to know if using this foundation is making my skin better or worseIs it true that mineral foundation is good for your skin?
I actually checked this out with my beautician friend once and she said if we use a good foundation, it shouldn't clore our pores and instead it should even help act as a layer of protection for our faces from the dirt/dust around us. So i think it should be good.

Also, i was told the minerals in the foundation is suppose to be good for our skin coz since we eat multi-vitamins to keep our bodies healthy, why shouldn't our skin have extra supplement of minerals to make it look good..hahaha.

Btw, a new brand of quality mineral foundation i came to know about recently is from Mary Kay. its a new skincare/cosmetic brand which has just arrived in Singapore and is popular in USA. I remember reading in a website that celebrities in usa uses mary kay cosmetics at the oscars. Coz their cosmetics are suppose to be non-comodogenic, so it doesn't clog pores.

Anyway, my girlfriend knows someone whose selling this brand and so she's arranging for us to go for a complimentary trial. If you're still unsure and is searching for a good foundation, maybe you can join us to go for the free trial. Afterall its for free and maybe you can get your answer from their skincare expert also. ;-)Is it true that mineral foundation is good for your skin?
It depends on how your skin will react to the ingredients.

the foundation you are using does contain ingredients that would not be considered as a ';mineral foundation'; ingredient (meaning they are more harmful to the skin because they are not natural or organic). It may cause reactions, it may do absolutely nothing.

Does mineral foundation clear acne prone skin?

I just bought some, I really like the coverage, but will it help with my skin? I have acne prone skin. So has anyone used it? I need feedback! Does mineral foundation clear acne prone skin?
it wont make ur skin worse idk about making it better

Does mineral foundation clear acne prone skin?
I find the mineral fntn's w/least amount of stuff added -are the least irritating/acne causing. Best thing is to make sure your skincare regime is going well, that you are applying mineral fntn to clean skin, and you remove it completely at night.
it wont nessesarily clear up your skin but it will prevent it from breaking out even more.
r u talkin bout physician's formula? cuz that's what i use i use the mineraly foundation and powder-it definitely helps clear up acne prone skin, doesn't clog pores, and actually minimizes irritation and breakout-depending on the type of mineral makeup you're using-the results may vary

Which is a good brand of mineral foundation?or a foundation never to buy ?

doesnt look cakey and has enough coverage for dark circles, not really for blemishes.

    maybe revlons colorstay mineral foundation?

    thanks !

maybelleine new york has a good mineral foundationWhich is a good brand of mineral foundation?or a foundation never to buy ?
I suggest to buy LAMINERALS.COM this minerals foundation works great and it very light and most important no bismuth on it so no allergy.

you can try the samples to $1 or $2 bucks .and never buy mary kay mineral makeup it really sucks it gave me rash and it leave my skin dry and cakey.
oo most definitely bare minerals foundation- its awesome mineral foundation- natural coverage and its great for your skin! and foundations that suck- it just depends on your skin.

Loreal, Maybelline and Bloom also have their mineral foundation makeup line. Loreal's might be more expensive than Revlon't but Maybelline makeup is usually cheaper than these two.

Loreal and Maybelline are available in most malls like in Landmark %26amp; SM cosmetic shops.

Bloom is available in Beauty Bar shops. There's a Beauty Bar shop in Glorietta in Makati.

Where can I get a good mineral foundation?

Ive heard alot about mineral foundation and was wondering if you know of a good brand and where to buy it.Obviosly Id prefer one that wasnt TOO expensive. Im from and living in Ireland,so preferably a brand thats availablehere.Ok.ThanksWhere can I get a good mineral foundation?
L'Oreal do a really good one and they also do a good mineral powder. I use it everyday and love it =DWhere can I get a good mineral foundation?
I've just purchased Maybelline Pure Foundation Mineral (link below) and it may possibly be the best foundation I've ever used. Really easy to apply, flawless coverage and really light so it hardly feels like it's on. It comes in 5 shades-there seems to be something for everyone. I often have trouble finding suitable foundations because I'm very pale - this didn't so much cover as blend into my skin tone to even everything out.

Hope that's helpful and you find what you're looking for.
I have been using kms mineral essentials for about a year. I used to use bare minerals and it got very costly. KmS is a great quality all-natural mineral makeup. It performs as well if not better than bare minerals and it costs much less. They do ship overseas. My aunt lives in Australia and has been ordering pretty regularly
I use a Maybelline one and its really good, I have a spare pot waiting for when my current one is empty. It lasts about 6 weeks or maybe longer, its dead easy to apply and it does come with a brush. The only thing is that it smells a bit like a BBQ, it took me a couple of days to work out why I could smell BBQ at 8am! You soon get used to it though! Its less than 拢10 too.
the Hollywood formula of LA minerals is FANTASTIC!!

they have samples for like $1 and they ship them free anywhere.

Not sure how much it is for you in Ireland cuz of money conversion, but they have a currency converter on their website.

get their veil, concealer, and the Lit Up bronzer too!

Omg im going to order the Avon smooth Minerals today Im soooo excited it's on sale if you buy one get the other for 1.99 sooo going to lol Ha I use Sephora and my mom used Avon soo I get the 1.99 one and im sooo excited to play and try it,10 bucks
There was a lady in need of foundation and she visited the cosmetics page of www.ernestone.co.uk to order foundation and the products are from aloe vera organic plant.
Mary Kay's is great and it is double the size of bare minerals and only $18. I have tried bare minerals and mary kay's is actually MUCH higher quality. All the other ones seem chalky and not finely milled (cheep)!
Try looking in Super Drug hun, I had a Maybaline mineral foundation for 拢6.99 about 2 weeks ago, they still might have the offer on, due to the summer holidays.

    Good Luck. X :-)

I have these two shades of mineral foundation and I put one shade on one side of my face and the other shade on the other side.. and they look the same, how can I tell which one is the right color for my skin tone??

    1) Go outside in the sunlight.

    2) Look at your neck and compare it to your face. Which one looks to be the closest to your neck?

The colour that matches your skin should ';disappear';, meaning it will look as though you do not have it on because it is the same colour as your neck and face.

Yes, I have mineral powder foundation from Arbonne and I LOVE IT! It is so easy to put on and looks beautiful! Let me know if you need help finding where to order it!What kind of foundation is good for oily skin?Has anyone tried mineral foundations?
Sometimes your entire face has the remains of makeup. In this case, add witch-hazel in limejuice and then leave the area to dry. Be careful to properly dry away the area.

It is really better to add acetone in the astringent that you use, because it has the nature to dissolve the oil in the skin and eliminate it from the skin. If the astringent is strong it will burn the skin rather than removing the excess oil. It will again produce excess oil from the glands.

To bring a clear tone to the skin, use mud masks. Blend 1 teaspoon of raw honey in clay and mix it with water to form a fine paste. Spread the mixture on the face and preserve it on the face for about 15 minutes. To remove the above mixture, rinse the face with lukewarm water. Repeat the procedure for nearly three times a week.

Once or twice a week, apply the mixture of water and ....

Christian Dior has a fantastic powder foundation called DiorSkin. It comes in, like, 16 different shades and will help to absorb the oils. use a cream to powder foundation or a mousse foundation. Both of these are great for oily skin. Skip the liquid foundation it will only make your face shiny and it will not stay on.
I use Youngblood mineral makeup. It is the best thing that has happened to me! By the way the oil might be caused from what you are cleaning your face with. Go getta facial and talk to the the pro.
i love mineral foundation it gives a great coverup and doesn't clog your pores. try bare minerals....you can get it at www.sephora.com

Which is the best mineral foundation to use?

I have dark, olive skin, and it is hard for me to find foundation that matches my skin tone. I would love to use a mineral foundation but have no idea which one I should use. I would like one that has flawless coverage, and maybe one that tends to all skin types/tones.

I have tried Loreal Bare Naturale and absoultely loved it, but none of the shades match my skin color, theyre either too light or too dark. Help please :(Which is the best mineral foundation to use?
I've tried Bare Minerals- for nearly a whole year (bought it for xmas last year..) and its great because it's talc free. i stopped using though, since my skin isn't as oily as it was and the result isnt as amazing as it was before. I've heard that Everyday Minerals is very good aswell, they have more shades too, however you can only find them online. Be careful with Bare Minerals, it contains something called Bismuth Oxcloride which can cause break outs. i know that maybelline dream matte mouse has the same ingredient, so try that first see if it breaks you out...

you say that the shades don't match your skin? By one slightly darker and one a bit lighter, and mix them! A couple of taps from the darker one and from the lighter, and you can achieve your skin tone!

If that doesn't work out, then try Everyday Minerals...they have alot of shades! Good luck, and hope I helped!Which is the best mineral foundation to use?

They have the widest selection of mineral makeup. All foundations come in matching concealers. So you should be able to find your color. What is the best mineral foundation for african americans?

I am a dark african american. What is the best mineral foundation for african americans?
I looooove Bare Minerals. And they come in dark shades. Go to Sephora or Ulta and ask the people who work there to help find the perfect color for you. Bare Minerals doesn't really clog your pores, at least I didn't break out after starting to use it. I tried the other brands you can find in regular stores but nothing compared to Bare Minerals. You really CAN sleep in it. The infomercials aren't lyin! It gives you really good coverage and you don't really need to reapply it all the time. And it lasts a really long time. So try that one first! What is the best mineral foundation for african americans?
    bare minerals
my friend nicole loves the';deep'; shade of bare minerals foundation by bare escentuals, her daughter wears ';dark';. check it out for yourself ay any ulta, sephora, macy's, or nordstrom store, to see how it works on your skin, before making a decision. the 25.00 foundation lasts about one year.
    Bare Minerals is packed with bismuth and talc's that clog pores and create facial irritations. They are not a well made quality product, they are just ';Infomercialed to death';

If you want a truly amazing foundation get liquid powder mineral foundation by Bee Luscious Cosmetics its so fabulous, great coverage , light airy feel tot he skin.
i also like bare minerals :) but sheer miracle is good for african americans, also go to thegourmetrose.com and go to the list on the right and click on mineral makeup...they have dark shades as well :) good luck!!

I want a good powder or liquid mineral foundation, but my skin tone changes often?

I have fair skin with beige undertones, during the summer i get very, tan so then there is even less pinkness to my skin almost yellowish. I need a make up that will flex with my skin coloring. so i don't always have to buy a different shade after going to the beach (i tan through sunblock) thanks!I want a good powder or liquid mineral foundation, but my skin tone changes often?
You should try almay's smart shade makeup, it's very light and doesn't have much coverage but it stays on nicely. So unless you have bad skin problems or acne, this blends really well with skin and looks light and natural. It's liquid though so I apply with my fingers..

its advertised to match your skintone, read some reviews on it. works fine for me!I want a good powder or liquid mineral foundation, but my skin tone changes often?
If your skin tone change a lot during the summer, then it is best to have two different shades of foundation. There are so many mineral makeup company out there which offers different range of foundation colors with affordable price. Most companies offer sample size which you can choose 2-3 colors to try. So you can choose color that will match your skin tone on summer and winter.

Bare minerals is a really good choice. My sister uses it and she says that it works good for her. Me personally I just stick with my covergirl liquid foundation. I have oily skin and that is what makes my skin less oily. It has honestly started to clear up, since I've wore it more dearing the day. Hope this helps!I don't like to wear makeup during the day. Has anyone tried the Loreal Mineral foundation or blush?

Is it good coverage for the money, does it even out your complexion, is it cakey at all?Has anyone tried the Loreal Mineral foundation or blush?
I haven't specifically tried the Loreal mineral makeup, but I have tried a few other brands, and basically there are pros and cons. Pros are that it does cover really evenly -- no blotches; it's easy and fast to put on; it blends really beautifully. It's not cakey at all -- quite the opposite. And it feels nice on -- it isn't heavy or oily like some foundations.

On the other hand, because it's so light, it doesn't cover as well as other foundations, so if you have blemishes you want to hide, it might not be for you. The thing that drove me crazy was that it was a MESS! The containers are forever leaking a powdery film over everything else in your makeup bag, especially if you're on the go a lot. It also gets all over your sink/dresser/wherever you apply your makeup, so you can't just throw it in your purse and put it on in the car. And of course, it's wicked expensive.

My advice is to buy a foundation and try it (or ask a friend if you can try hers). You may love it; you may not.

Hope that was helpful.Has anyone tried the Loreal Mineral foundation or blush?
I've tried both, I still have the mostly intact blush sitting on my make up counter. I would say spend your money on Physicians Formula if you're looking for a good ';drugstore'; brand. The Loreal foundation didn't go on smoothly and didn't look natural, the blush wasn't smooth either and didn't have the nice blendable quality that mineral make up usually has.
yes, it is amazing. It has many shades, natural, and pretty light. I would sujest it to someone who wanted to have a clear face, but would not worry that everyone knows they are wearing it, due to the thikness. i would try Bare Minerals or Bare Essentials or Essential Minerals. i forget which one its called. It comes in a bottle and a powder pot. :)
i found it a little cakey and not too natural looking, but i have bad skin which could be a factor. If you do not have bad acne i strongly recommend it.

it did not stay on as long as i would have liked but then again i have oily skin
well i like it its pretty good for mineral makeup.

I prefer to use L'Oreal Bare Naturale mineral blush. I think it gives off a more natural glow than Maybelline. Every single one of my friends have switched their own brand of blush after trying my L'Oreal Bare Naturale, so.. Yeah. =) Plus, it lasts forever and the blush brush it comes with is really easy to use.Has any 1 tried the new Maybelline Mineral Foundation and Mineral Blusher?
I have and I like it, not so much the liquid mineral foundation, it's ok but after a while it makes you look shinny. The loose powder on the other hand is great, very natural looking and the natural blusher very nice too.
ive tried it, covergirl tru blend mineral powder is better and is beter for skin

How do i apply mineral foundation?

i have just bought avons mineral foundation and blusher but im not too sure how to apply it! i have only ever used liquid foundation. also what brush should i use? i tried with a big bronzer brush but it didnt realy work. How do i apply mineral foundation?
First, use a concealer brush to apply the powder concealer where you need it (under eyes, spots, etc).

Then put a little of the foundation into the lid of the jar (or a small dish) and swirl your brush in it so that the foundation goes into the brush. Then buff the brush in small circles all over your face.

To apply blush, pick up a small amount of product onto your brush. Tap off the excess. Apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks. If you want to contour, take a darker shade and apply it under your cheekbones to define them and upwards towards your temple.

For the finishing powder, just dust it loosely over your face with a big fluffy brush.

The trick is to buff and blend, blend, blend! How do i apply mineral foundation?
Use a medium size brush, not a blusher and not an eyeshadow, one in between. Dip it in the pot, shake off the excess so that it doesnt all fall off the brush, you dont need much on there. With circling motions sweep gently and evenly across the face.
ive got avons mineral foundation and i thought it was crap, until i worked out how to use it..

jus get a brush and proper swirl so the the powder is right in, and then tap and then apply in circles on your face to blend!

    have fun!
Try puritycosmetics,co,uk. It is really good!
The best brush to use for mineral makeup is a kabuki brush.

What is a good mineral foundation & concealer with good coverage? ?

I know I asked this question before but I was hoping to get a variety of answers. I am looking for a mineral foundation (besides Bare Minerals) that will give me a glow and is light on the skin. I plan on purchasing one tomorrow along with a concealer and need some help. Also, what is the best way to go by choosing my color match? Thanks. What is a good mineral foundation %26amp; concealer with good coverage? ?
have you tried arbonne they are swiss products and they are all good for your skin. no is nothing like mary kay its a lot better than that, quality products. www.arbonne.comWhat is a good mineral foundation %26amp; concealer with good coverage? ?
    bare minerals
Maybelline Mineral Power is a good mineral foundation. It doesn't clog your pores and feels really light on your skin. It also comes with this really cutee little brush that you can apply it with. The only problem I experience is to find my right shade. I have a hard time with that.

    Good Luck! =)
i love BARE NATURALES BY L'OREAL.
My cousin and I SWEAR by Mary-Kay's Mineral Powder. It's so much better than Bare Minerals because a) It doesn't fall off, and b) it's SO much cheaper. Around $18.

It also doesn't rub off on clothes or other people. It smells nice and makes your skin feel and look AMAZING (and soft!!)

It ALSO doesn't make your skin look cakey. It's perfect for setting foundation, or using alone.

My cousin uses it after putting on liquid foundation and it leaves her skin looking SO healthy. While I only usually use the powder alone, and it still has the same effect!

  • Which are the best brushes to apply mineral foundation?

Your favorite brushes to apply mineral make up with ? :) What kind is best ?Which are the best brushes to apply mineral foundation?
The bare essentials brand ';kabuki brush is short, soft, and fits great inside a makeup bag. They sell it with their mineral products. But any good quality brush that is thick with lots of soft hairs will do the trick.Which are the best brushes to apply mineral foundation?
My favorites are the Maximum Concealer Brush to apply it like a concealer, and the Heavenly Face Brush for application of the minerals as foundation. HFB has a flat surface so it's really even and blends well. Both are by Bare Escentuals.
yahhhhhhh kaya gueee ini....gue cuma pake foundation yg natural dan yg cocok ama kulit muka gue ajaaaa, soalX gue takt ama alat make up yg berlebihan2.......ntar muka gue rusak lagiiiiiiiiAstagfirullah!!!!!!
omg my Mary Kay Sales representative sells a brush set made from real horse hair the horses are not harmed in the making, but they are so soft and applicate very well they're not expensive either

What difference does it make to apply mineral veil underneath the bare-minerals foundation?

does it make your make up last longer

or is it a waste of mineral veil? What difference does it make to apply mineral veil underneath the bare-minerals foundation?
its supposed to go over your foundation. it keeps the make up on your face longerWhat difference does it make to apply mineral veil underneath the bare-minerals foundation?
i wouldn't recommend it because yeas its a waste and it clogs your pored and the point of the bare minerals is that it lets your skin breath so you are sorta defeating the purpose of the object, and if you want it to last longer try a more infallible one such as Loreal paris true match minerals.

    hope i helped, good luck =) x
It is helpful if you have very oily skin. In that case, it will help control the oil and set the makeup. If you have normal/dry skin, it may just make your skin feel dry. I like to do it on humid days when I know my skin will be an oil slick. But if you have no problems with the normal foundation then mineral veil combo, don't change it.

I put the mineral veil under and over the foundation on oily days. It is not wasteful for me cause it works.
I bought the mineral veil and used it once, didn't like it because it looked spotty and noticeable for some reason. Maybe I'll try this underneath trick, see if it helps that way. But I didn't like it over the makeup at all.

I guess it all depends on our skin types, right? We have to figure what works for us.
I think it would probably be just a waste... because the glow that the veil is supposed to give you wouldn't show too well through the foundation.

I can't think how would it make the makeup last longer. Isn't that what the primer drops are for? :P
